Bafflement of tounges

I was staying with my uncle in Mumbai.
One fine morning picked up the landphone...
A cute sound “Hello”, I thought who would be this.. Its soo cute..
“Hello”.... I got up from my day dreams of dating her, took an English (UK) accent “yya”
“mala saka sangla thuka satellite radio dish.. kya sangla.. %*&^..kutla thumee”
I thought she was shaking a vase with some smooth pebbles in it... it took me sometime to recogonise that it was Marathi Language*
My whole UK accent went for a toss, “I English janta hu... hai... ho, You English”
I could imagine her face now. As I was imagining she told something more which i couldn't concentrate. She shot again a ‘Hello’ and my Hindi tounge came out to act and I uttered a simple word “Hah Bolo”. She got fed up or she couldnt have words to describe the reason why she called and said “Hhh....Thankku”
Only thing that hummed in my ears was the sound of the phone disconnected.
Sorry my unknown friend. Or was she was also feeling sorry, I dont think so.
* No hard feelings , they may be thinking of Malayalam (my tounge) the same way.
Tail piece: I am damn sure that she is not stupid as one of the workshop guy whom I consulted with my bike on the way to the office. Told him to check the air in my rear tyre as I was feeling something funny while driving. Cruised pass him hearing the solution, “Petrol tho barabar hai na tank mein”. Even now I bow the head with whole heart respect whenever I pass his edifice.
